Read a description of the available classes and sign up for the one you are most interested in below. Sign up is not mandatory to attend a class but will help the CE Board find adequate space and materials. Locations will be determined by class size and announced prior to April 7. Books are not required for the classes, but they are listed in the descriptions below in case you would like to purchase and read along.
The Love of God
Teachers: Lara Bice & Vanessa Shotts
Building on the principles found in 1 Corinthians 13, this class will dive into the depth and perfection of God’s love and explore the ways love can be reflected in our daily lives. This class seeks to understand this basic and yet deep attribute for those who find it hard to accept or give patience, kindness, forgiveness and more. Based on the books A Love Worth Giving by Max Lucado and Love: The Way of Victory by Kenneth E. Hagin. (Part of Oasis School for Life: Course 1)
Christianity 101
Teachers: Andrew Aube & Cole Lankford
As a Christian, do you really know what you believe and how to share your faith with others? Whether you’ve grown up in the church or you’re at the start of your Christian walk, in Christianity 101, you’ll reconnect with your foundational beliefs and affirm your faith. This class will also take the guesswork out of how to share your faith with others. (Part of Oasis School for Life: Course 2)
Believer’s Authority
Teachers: Bo Seagrist, Gretchen Jones & Mike Miller
Based on the Book of Ephesians, this class aims to teach believers about exercising authority, breaking the devil's power, and using weapons of spiritual warfare. As you begin to understand and exercise your authority as a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ, Satan will flee, and God’s power and blessings will manifest in your life greater than ever before.
Hot Topics & Frequently Asked Questions
Teacher: Pastor Patrick Cooper
Do you have a question about the Bible that you’ve always wanted to ask? Is there a cultural or political issue that you would like to hear discussed through a biblical lens? Join this pastor-led class to break down Hot Topics and Frequently Asked Questions from a biblical, spirit-filled perspective. The first few sessions are planned, but the remaining topics will be chosen by the participants—no relevant question is off the table.
Pathway Press
Teachers: Grady Syx, Calvin Owens, Billy Carpenter
Oasis has followed this seven-year series from the Church of God’s One Accord/Pathway Press Curriculum for the past several years. If you loved the material offered in our past Sunday Morning Small Groups, this is the class for you! The lessons are life-related and Pentecostal/Evangelical in perspective. Topics for this quarter include the Book of James and How to Study the Bible. The class is held in the overflow room.
